Brunch at Myers + Chang
Today we came for brunch to Myers + Chang, one of our favorite restaurants in South End. |
We sat outside, so Poirot could stay with us. |
The first dish was the celery + tofu salad. Very light and refreshing - perfect dish on a hot day like today. |
And this is my husband's favorite, fried egg banh mi w/sweet soy glazed bacon. We always order this dish, and it always tastes good! |
And this is the stuffed bao with duck and gingered cherries. The gingered cherries were sweet and very unique, but went very well with duck meat. |
We also ordered the tea smoked ribs. The meat is sooo tender that we could easily remove it from the bones with the chopsticks. |
After the brunch, we went to the nearby dog park. At first, only big dogs were there and Poirot did not want to stay away from us... |
But soon after, two pugs came to the park! |
Then a very active French bulldog (4 months old) showed up! |
I don't know why, but this little puppy liked Poirot and gave him a lot of kisses. |
Poirot didn't know how to handle the puppy, and he was totally frozen~. Peoples around them were all smiling at them. |

Lunch at Shanghai Gate
Today we stopped at Shanghai Gate for lunch after finishing some errands in the neighborhood. |
This is the sliced napa cabbage and dried tofu in sesame oil. I tasted only sesame oil - I prefer it with a little bit of saltiness.... |
The sliced rice cake sauteed with pork and Chinese leek. This is my favorite dish at this restaurant. |

Greenway Mobile Food Festival
I think more around 30 food trucks were there. First we tried Mei Mei Street Kitchen, a Chinese-American food truck. |
This is the fiddlehead fern tempura. Not too bad. |
This is the Chinese pulled pork on house baked bun - I don't remember how it tasted (not too impressibe, I guess). |
Next we went to Lobsta Love truck. Many people were making a line here. |
My husband requested to try Redbones, a BBQ truck. |
As soon as he found out we got the ribs, Poirot's eyes became wide open and shinny! |
I was still not very full, so tried another truck, Bon Me, which served Vietnamese cuisine. |

Brunch at East by Northeast
Today we came to East by Northeast inCambridge for brunch. We visited here once for dinner a long time ago, but my husband didn't like it very much and hadn't come back since.. But I thought the brunch would be a low risk, so we gave it a try again. |

Dinner at Fuloon
Tonight I wanted to eat something spicy but didn't feel like traveling too far, so we went to a Chinese restaurant near our home, Fuloon. |
The double cooked pork. It was spicy but also had a hint of sweetness. It tasted better than it looked. |
The sauteed pea sprouts. Very garlicky but good. |
