Brunch at Craigie on Main

今日はすご～く (2年ぶりくらい?) 久しぶりに Craigie on Main にブランチを食べに行きました。朝一番の席しか予約できなかったので、私たちが来たときにはまだほとんどお客さんはいませんでした (帰る頃にはもちろんほぼ満席でした)。 Today we came for brunch to Craigie on Main.  It's been really a long time (maybe ~2 years?) since we came here last time.  I could get a table only at the opening time (10:30 am), so when we arrived the restaurant was almost empty (but by teh time we left, it was full).

夫はコーヒーを注文。 My husband ordered the coffee.

私はハイビスカスティーを注文したのですが、これがめちゃくちゃ酸っぱい!! 酸っぱいもの大好きな私にさえかな~り酸っぱい! 今までこんな酸っぱいハイビスカスティーは飲んだことがなかったのでちょっとショックでした。 I chose the hibiscus tea, but it was EXTREMELY sour!  I love anything sour, but this was even beyond my liking.  I'd never had such sour hibiscus tea before...

私が注文したお料理はスモークした牛タンのハッシュ。上にはオニオンフライが乗っていてその下にはポーチドエッグが隠れています。これはお肉が柔らかくてちょっと甘めの味付けでなかなかおいしい。 For the food, I ordered the grass-fed & house-brined corned beef cheek & smoked beef tongue hash.  It came with the onion rings and a poached egg.  The meat was very tender and had slightly sweet flavors.  I liked this dish.

夫はハンバーガーを注文。ここのハンバーガーはボストンで1,2を争うほどおいしいと有名ですぐ売切れてしまうらしいです。なのですご～く期待していたのですが、私たちにとっては噂ほどにはおいしくないような…。お肉の味付けが酸っぱくて (傷んでいるとかいうわけではないのですが) なんか違和感が…。 My husband chose the burger.  The burger at this restaurant is very famous (many people said one of the best in Boston) and it is often sold out, so our expectation was very high.  But unfortunately neither of us liked it...  The meat tasted sour (not because the meat was bad/old), which we don't like for burgers....

これをみんなはおいしいといっているのでしょうか? それとも私たちが食べたのが失敗作で普段はもっとおいしいのでしょうか? もう一度食べて確かめてみたい気もしますが、でも多分もうここでバーガーを注文することはないと思います。 I am not sure why people think this burger is one of the best in Boston...  Or we just came on a bad day and it usually tastes better?  To confirm, we should try it again, but I don't think we will....
