Brunch at South End Buttery

今日は South End にある South End Buttery にブランチを食べに行きました。ここはカフェ・ベーカリーなのですが食事も食べられます。 Today we came to South End Buttery for brunch. It’s a bakery/café, but also serves brunch and dinner.

私は紅茶 (イングリッシュブレックファースト) を頼んだのですが、巨大なカップに入って出てきました。 I ordered tea (English Breakfast) which was served in a huge cup.

夫はコーヒー。 My husband ordered coffee.

まずはベーカリーバスケットを注文。スコーン、マフィンとバナナブレッド (の様なもの) が出てきました。私のお気に入りはアプリコットと生姜入りのスコーン。 First we ordered “Buttery Bakery Basket”, which included a muffin, a scone and a small piece of breakfast bread with jam & butter. My favorite was the scone – it had apricot and ginger.

これはフルーツサラダ。いろいろな種類のフルーツが入ってました。 We also ordered the fresh fruit salad (which I ate all).

そしてさらに私はワイルドマッシュルームのタルトをオーダー。生地がさくさくでおいしかったですが、値段の割りに、サイズは結構小さいかも。 In addition I ordered the wild mushroom tart with caramelized onions and arugula salad. It was flakey and good, but I think it was a bit expensive for this small size…

夫はスクランブルエッグとパンケーキのセット。またまた食べ過ぎておなかいっぱいになってしまいました (さすがにスコーンなどは全部食べ切れなかったのでもって帰りましたが)。隣のテーブルの人が食べていた苺のフレンチトーストがすごくおいしそうだったので、次回来た時に頼んでみようと思います。 My husband ordered “Buttery Breakfast” with 2 organic cage-free eggs (he chose scrambled eggs) and 2 pancakes. We both are too much again and were very full (we couldn’t finish the bread basket, and took the leftover home). I saw the person sitting next to our table eating the French toast with strawberries which looked very delicious… I’ll order it at my next visit!!

その後はいつものように Poirot をドッグパークへ連れて行きました。 After lunch, we went to the dog park with Poirot again.

わんちゃんたちに追いかけられると大急ぎで逃げる Poirot。そのくせ他の飼い主さんのところへ行っては甘えてかわいがってもらうのが大好き。たぶん自分のことを犬だとは思ってないんだと思います! He always runs away when he is chased by other dogs. But he loves to go to owners of other dogs and get patted (he stares at people with those innocent eyes, but I think he is expecting some treats from them). I don’t think he thinks he is a dog!
