Brunch at Aquitaine

今日は South End にある フレンチビストロのお店、Aquitaine へブランチを食べにやってきました。昔はお店の人に顔を覚えられるくらいよく来ていたのですが最近はすっかりご無沙汰していました。 Today we came to Aquitaine, a French bistro in South End, for brunch.  I used to come here very frequently, but it's been a quite while since my last visit...

ここのブランチには $10 でジュース、飲み放題のコーヒー、シナモンロールと卵料理というお得なメニューがあります。夫はそのメニューから選んだのですが、シナモンロールが以前と比べてかなり小さくなったような…。まあこの物価高でもお値段据え置きなのでしょうがないですね。 This restaurant serves $10 prix fixe menu with fresh juice, bottomless coffee, a cinnamon roll and a breakfast egg dish.  My husband ordered the prix fixe menu, but the cinnamon roll he got was much smaller than it used to be...

これが夫の注文したOmelette Alsacienne  で、中にはマッシュルーム、リーク (西洋葱) と Boursin というクリームチーズが入っています。ポテトのローストとトーストも付いてきます。これはかなりボリュームたっぷり。チーズがとろ～っとしていてなかなかおいしかったです。And this is the egg dish he selected - Omelette Alsacienne with mushrooms, leeks, and Boursin cheese.  It also came with roasted potatoes and toast.  I liked this omelette - melted cheese had a nice flavor.

私はアラカルトの中から注文。紅茶を頼んだらティーバッグだったのがちょっと残念。 I ordered tea, but was disappointed that it was a tea bag...

こちらが私がオーダーしたベルジアンワッフル。表面がかりっとしていて中がふわふわというのが私の好みの焼き具合なのですが、これは全部がふにゃっとしていていまいち。ほとんど夫に食べてもらい、その代わり私が夫のオムレツを半分以上食べました。まあ、South End にあってこの値段だったらあんまり文句は言えませんね。 I ordered from the a la carte - Crème fraiche & lemon scented Belgian waffle with fresh berries & vanilla whipped cream.  I like waffles with crispy surface and moist and fluffy inside, but this was all too soft (as if it was sitting in the kitchen for a long time after it was cooked).  I game most of it to my husband and I ate his omelette instead.  Well, I shouldn't complain too much - it is still a good deal in South End.
