 今日は朝早く起きて、まずスペイン広場 (Plaza de España) へ行ってみました。この広場は1929年にセビーリャで開催された万国博覧会「イベロ・アメリカ博覧会」の会場施設として造られたものです。We woke up very early this morning and went to the Plaza de España. This place was built in 1928 for the Ibero-American Exposition of 1929. |

 朝早かったためか、人影はまばら。Because it was very early in the morning, there were not many people visiting here. |
 万博パビリオンとして建てられた広場内の建物は、1920年代のアールデコとアンダルシア地方の典型的な建築様式であるムデハル様式を組み合わせたデザインです。The building is a mix of 1920s Art Deco and 'mock Mudejar', and Neo-Mudéjar styles. |
 橋の欄干はカラフルなタイルで飾られています。The Parapets on the bridge are decorated with colorful tiles. |
 回廊の壁はスペイン各県の紋章や、歴史的出来事を描写した壁面タイル絵 (全部で58あります) で彩られています。これは Huesca 県のものです。By the walls of the Plaza are many tiled alcoves, each representing a different province of Spain (58 of them in total). This one is for Huesca. |

 2階から下を見下ろしたところ。結構高いです。素敵な建物ですが、昨日訪れたアルカサルとはやっぱり比べ物になりませんね。改めて昔の職人の技術力の高さと、彼らを呼び寄せ、お金に糸目を付けずに自分の思うものを作らせることができた権力者の財力を思い知らされました。The view from the upstairs. It is actually quite high. It is quite a nice building, but it cannot come even close to the beauty of the Alcazar that we visited yesterday. It made me realize the quality of ancient craftsmen and the power and wealth of the kings who ordered to built such a building. |
