Lunch at Eastern Standard

今日はクリスマスイブ。アメリカではみんな家族とクリスマスを過ごすので、近くに家族のいない私達は特にする事もなく、暇。なのでとりあえずお昼ご飯を食べようと、Eastern Standard へ行ってきました。 Today was Christmas Eve.  Unlike in Japan, everyone in the US spend the Christmas day with their family.  Since we don't have our family around us, we had nothing to do and were bored...  So we decided to go for lunch to Eastern Standard.

今日はとっても寒いので何か温かいものをと思い、フレンチオニオンスープを注文。熱々で下をやけどしてしまいましたが、玉ねぎの甘さがスープにしっかり出ていて、食べているうちに体もぽかぽかしてきました。 As it was very cold today, I wanted something warm, and ordered the French onion soup.  The soup was super hot and I burnt my tongue...  But onion was very sweet and it made me warm.

ムール貝のプロバンス風。 Moules Provençal.

ムール貝はかなり肉厚でプリッとしています。 The mussels were plump and succulent.

カマンベール、トマト、オリーブのフラットブレッド。生地がカリカリでなかなかいけます。 The flatbread with camembert, olive and tomato.  The crust was crunchy and good.

自家製ポテトチップス。なぜか最近フライドポテトやポテトチップスなどの脂っこいものが無性に食べたくなって、ちょっと困っています。 Hope-made potato chips.  These days I crave oily stuff (French fries, chips, etc)...

最後にホワイトラズベリーのシャーベット。さっぱりしていておいしい~。レストランではたくさんの人達が、一家総出でお祝いしてました。にぎやかで楽しそうで、うらやましい～。 And at the end, white raspberry sorbet.  It was very refreshing.  At the restaurant, many families were celebrating Christmas - they all looked happy and I was jealous!
