Lunch at Eastern Standard

今日はクリスマスイブ。アメリカではみんな家族とクリスマスを過ごすので、近くに家族のいない私達は特にする事もなく、暇。なのでとりあえずお昼ご飯を食べようと、Eastern Standard へ行ってきました。

Today was Christmas Eve.  Unlike in Japan, everyone in the US spend the Christmas day with their family.  Since we don't have our family around us, we had nothing to do and were bored...  So we decided to go for lunch to Eastern Standard.

As it was very cold today, I wanted something warm, and ordered the French onion soup.  The soup was super hot and I burnt my tongue...  But onion was very sweet and it made me warm.

Moules Provençal.

The mussels were plump and succulent.

The flatbread with camembert, olive and tomato.  The crust was crunchy and good.

Hope-made potato chips.  These days I crave oily stuff (French fries, chips, etc)...

And at the end, white raspberry sorbet.  It was very refreshing.  At the restaurant, many families were celebrating Christmas - they all looked happy and I was jealous!
