Today we left Chartres for Blois. On the way, there were only canola (?) fields and |
Wheat fields. |
![]() A wooden windmill suddenly appeared in the field. It did not seem to be working now. |
We stopped our car at the town called Châteaudun. |
These buildings seem to be there since the Middle Ages. |
This old building is still used as residency. |
Colorful flowers were blooming everywhere. |
A cute little street. |
The entrance to Château de Châteaudun. |
We did not go inside the château. We just took several pictures from outside. |
Very detailed decorations. |
We found another wooden windmill. |
A navigable aqueduct. |
We stayed at La Maison d'à Côté in Blois. This hotel was opened by a chef (owner) and his wife and its restaurant is awarded Michelin 1 star. There are only 8 rooms. It is a little bit far from the Blois city center (need a car), but is located only 5 min away (by car) from Château de Chambord. The picture was taken at the front desk of the hotel. |
This is the ceiling of our room. Inside was recently remodeled, but the building itself appears to be very old. |
The terrace of the hotel. |
