Today we were very active and visited one more château - Château de Chaumont-sur-Loire.
After Henry II died, his wife, Catherine de Medici, forced Diane de Poitiers, her late husband's long-term mistress, to exchange Château de Chenonceau for Château de Chaumont. |
You have to climb up the slope (~10 min walk) to enter the château. |
It looks very romantic - like Cinderella Castle. |
It has the typical "castle" appearance (at least to me). |
A very long dining table. |
A music room. |
These chairs have different height. A person at higher position sit on the higher chair. |
Looking down River Loire from the window. |
Chapel. All the châteaus we visited had their own chapels. |
The château is built right above the river. |
We came out from the château, |
And walked to the stables. |
Stalls for horses. |
All the horse tacks were made by Hermès. |
In addition, there are many small buildings which are used as small museums/exhibition rooms. |
One last picture of the château. |
