From Taipei, it takes only ~2 hour by car to Taichun. This time, we stayed one night at a hotel with hot springs in the suburb of Taichun. In Taiwan, like in Japan, there are many hot springs. Before checking in to the hotel, we had lunch (and tea) at Chun Shui Tang, a famous tea shop. |
They have now many shops across Taiwan, but this one is the original one. |
Milk tea in a huge glass. This is sooooooo good. We always get this tea when we come to Taiwan (mostly in Taipei, though). |
They also serves various small dishes. |
Since each dish is small, we can enjoy many different ones. |
Squid balls (fried balls of ground squid). |
Everything was very tasty~. |
He also ordered a fish dish. But according to him, it was so so (I did not eat). |
Then, we walked to 無為草堂 (I don't know hot to call it in English) another tea house that we both love. All we did in Taiwan is to eat! |
This tea house has a Kapanese style gardens and romms with tatami (Japanese flooring). It is very tranquil. |
If you don't know how to prepare tea (there is a specific procedure), your waitress will teach you. |
Small sweets are also available. This is the fresh green mango. |
Balls made of purple yam. |
A steamed cake made of brown sugar. |
Sticky rice cakes (sweet red bean paste inside). |
In the pond in the garden, there are many carp. |
You can feed carp, too (they give you feed for free). We felt so relaxed here - I want to sit here forever... |
