Today is the last day in Kyoto (tomorrow we'll leave for Tokyo where we will stay for one night before going back to Boston). Before leaving, we went for lunch at Wagokoro Izumi with my parents. This restaurant is the Michelin 1 star restaurant. |
At first, a cup of cherry blossom tea was served. It is so spring-like. |
This is the dish that was the solidified mixture of ground tofu, fish, etc. Sea urchin was on top of it. Very delicious. |
Soup with red snapper and a kind of fish cake (called "shinjo"). It was very light. |
Three kinds of sashimi. |
We were advised to eat squid sashimi with this salt from France. It matched very well. |
Assembly of small dishes (for 4 people). The picture is not very good, but it was very very beautiful. |
It was the art on the plate. I feel so lucky to be from Kyoto. |
Green vegetable and bamboo shoot. |
Green pea rice. We could not finish all of it and took home the left-over rice. |
Soup and pickles. |
Dessert No. 1. |
Dessert No. 2. |
And lastly, green tea. Ahhh, after such a good meal, I don't feel like going back to Boston... |
Then, my husband and I walked around the city. |
Kamo River. It was a little too early for cherry blossoms. |
Some trees were already blossoming. |
A typical view of Kyoto. |
We took a break at a cafe. My husband ordered a green tea parfait again. |
I ordered a cherry blossom shaped Japanese sweet and green tea. |
