Trip to Taiwan-Japan Day 16 ( 京都 (Kyoto) - 東京 (Tokyo))

さあ新幹線に乗って東京まで出発です。これでまた両親や妹家族とも暫くは会えないので寂しいです。次に会うときまで、みんな元気でいられますように。 We took a Shinkansen train (bullet train) to Tokyo.  I will miss my family as I can't see them until next time...

東京駅に着きました。 Tokyo Station.

ホテルは日本橋口に隣接した、メトロポリタン丸の内。 We stayed at Hotel Metropolitan Marunouchi, located right next to the entrance to the Tokyo Station.

ホテルのロビーは27階です。 The front desk in on the 27th floor of the building.

二人とも疲れていたので、あまり観光などはせず、東京駅周辺をぶらぶら。 We both were tired, so didn't do much sightseeing, just walked around the station.

とりあえずおなかがすいたので、大丸百貨店内にあるレストランへ。 To have lunch, we went to a Hong Kong style restaurant inside the Daimaru department store.

お粥セットと We ordered the porridge set and

点心セット。 the Dim sum set.

食事の後はデパ地下へ。 After the lunch, we went to the basement of the department store (Basement space in almost all department stores in Japan is for food - it is food heaven...).

和風ラスク。 Japanese style rusks.

巨大肉まん。 Huge steamed pork buns.

わらび餅。 Warabi-mochi (a jelly-like confection made from bracken starch and covered or dipped in kinako (sweet toasted soybean flour)).

お弁当。 A lunch box

イカ焼き。 Grilled squids

ソフトクリーム。 Soft serve ice cream.

マフィン。 Muffins.

春らしいクッキー。 Cookies.

この後ホテルの部屋に戻り、だらだらしていたのですが、日が暮れた後、やっぱりどこかに行こうということで、東京タワーへ。 After some food shopping, we went back to our hotel and took a nap, then visited the Tokyo Tower.

東京タワーが見えてきました。 Here it is.

今まで東京タワーなんてとちょっと馬鹿にしてましたが、こうして見るときれい。エッフェル塔にも負けてないと思います。 It is almost as beautiful as the Eiffel Tower.

ホテルに帰ってきて、部屋で夕食。昼間にデパ地下で買った極太巻と、 We came back to the hotel and ate dinner in our room.  This is a futo-maki (fat sushi roll) from the department store.

なだ万のお弁当。このお弁当は薄味ですごくおいしい！ 明日はいよいよ帰国です！ And this is the lunch box.
