Trip to France Day 6 (3) (Tours)

今夜はホテルのレストランで夕食です。３コースの Prix Fixe で、３品目はデザートかチーズか選べます。 Tonight we had dinner at the restaurant in our hotel.  They offered 3-course Prix Fixe (you can choose dessert or cheese).

アミューズブッシュのツナ。 Tuna for amuse bouche.

パンはまあまあおいしい。 Bread was not bad.

海老はちょっと加熱しすぎ。半生くらいが好み。 This shrimp was slightly overcooked.  I prefer a bit rare inside.

フォワグラ。真ん中の細長い器に入っているオレンジ色のものは桃のムースというかジャムのようなもの。フォワグラと一緒に食べるとおいしい。 Foie gras.  The orange stuff in the middle was peach mousse (or jam?).  It was very good when eaten with foie gras.

何のお魚だったか忘れてしまいました。とほほ。すぐに書き留めておかないとだめですね。 Some kind of fish.  I forgot what it was...

子羊のお肉。中にヤギのチーズが入っています。お肉の下にあるのはパスタ。 Ram.  There was some goat cheese inside meat.  Pasta was under the meat as well.

夫はレモンのスフレをオーダー。 My husband ordered lemon souffle.

私はチーズにしました。ワゴンに乗った２０種類以上のチーズをテーブルまで持ってきてくれて、１つづつ説明してくれます。このあたりはヤギのチーズの産地ですが、においが苦手なので、マイルドなものをいくつか選んでもらいました。さらに牛のチーズも何種類か選択。ヤギのチーズは想像したよりも食べやすかったですが、カマンベールが今まで食べたことのないようなすごく強烈なにおいプラス味で衝撃を受けました。アメリカや日本で食べたカマンベールとは比べ物にならない想像を絶するものでした。でも、夫と２人で完食！ I selected cheese.  You can select as many kinds of cheese as you want from more than 20 different kinds.  I chose several goat cheese (I asked for the mild ones) as well as cow cheese.  Goat cheese was better than I expected, but camembert  had unbelievably strong smell and taste and it was so shocking.  It was nothing like camembert  you can get in US or Japan.  But we finished them all!

食後の運動に、レストランから庭に出て散歩。 After dinner, we walked in the garden around the hotel to do some exercise.

１０時過ぎでもまだこんなに明るい！ It was after 10 pm but the Sun was still up.

客室のあるメインの建物の向かいにある別館。 A small house across the main building where we stayed.

別館の中にビリヤード台があったので挑戦。 Inside, you can play the pool.

１１時近くになるとだんだん暗くなってきて、庭にも明かりがともります。楽しい時間はあっという間に過ぎ、明日はいよいよパリに向けて出発です！ It was finally getting dark at around 11 pm.  Time flied so fast (especially when it was good time), and we have to leave for Paris tomorrow.
