Trip to London, UK - Day 1 (3)

お昼ごはんを食べた後、ロンドンアイに乗るためテムズ川沿いまで戻ってきました。 After the lunch, we came back to the river to take a ride on London Eye.

チケット売り場の中には観覧車のカプセルと同じ形をした水槽があって、中ではお魚が泳いでます。 In the ticket booth was a fish tank in the shape of London Eye capsule.

乗り場は思ったよりもすいていて、ほとんど待たずに乗ることができました。 There were less people than I expected waiting in the line.  We didn't have to wait at all.

カプセルの中にひとつだけ赤いのがあって、それに乗りたいな~と思っていたら、なんと本当に赤いのがやって来ました。別に色が違うだけで後は他のカプセルと全く一緒なのですが、なんかラッキーな気分。 Among 32 capsules, only one capsule is painted in red, and I was hoping to get into this red one - and I did!!  The difference is only the color, but I felt lucky!

観覧車の中からはウェストミンスター宮殿とビッグベンも見下ろせます。 From the capsule, we enjoyed the 360° view of London.

ここが観覧車の頂上です。かなり高いです。ここまで来るのに約15分かかりました。 Here is the top of the wheel.  It was quite high.  It took us around 15 min to reach the top.

ロンドンアイを楽しんだ後、テムズ川沿いを歩いていると、クリスマスマーケットを発見。 Then we walked along the river and found the Christmas market.

ドイツ系のお店が多いみたいで、ここでは色々なソーセージを売っていました。おいしそうだけどお昼ご飯を食べたばかりなので見るだけ。 There seemed to be many German shops - this shop was selling variety of sausages.  They looked delicious, but we just had lunch and did not taste any.

チュロスのお店、発見。味見させてもらったらおいしかったので、お昼ごはん食べたばっかりとか言ったくせに思わず1つ購入。自分でもよく食べるな~と感心してしまいました。 I found a churros booth.  The lady at the booth game me a small piece of sampling.  It was actually quite good, so I ordered one cup although, as I said, we just had lunch and were totally stuffed...  I was amazed by my own appetite...

揚げたてのをカップに入れてくれました。チョコレートも付いてきます。思ったよりもたくさん入っていてびっくり。 We got the freshly fried churros, which came with the chocolate sauce.  The portion was much bigger than I though (but we finished them all!).

温かいワインのお店があったのでこれも1杯頼んでみました We also found a booth selling warm wine (mulled wine), and ordered a cup.

シナモンなどのスパイスが効いていて、寒い冬にはぴったり。昨日からほとんど寝ていないのでさすがに疲れてきて、ここでいったんホテルに戻って夕食まで休憩することにしました。夕食の様子はまた後で~。 It was warm, spicy (cinnamon, nutmeg, etc) and good.  I think it is perfect in winter.  At this point, we were exhausted as we hadn't slept since the day before.  So we decided to go back to the hotel and take a rest until dinner.  I'll report the dinner later~.
