Tonight, we went to August, one of the restaurants by the famous chef, John Besh. |
The bread was not bad. |
The first wine, Gramona Cava 2007 Grand Cuvee (Penedes, Spain). Very smooth. |
The first course, confit of duck leg en gelée, fresh matsutake mushrooms, and duck liver mousse. |
The duck liver mousse tasted basically similar to foie gras. |
The gelée looked beautiful and also was tasty (although the smell of duck was too strong for me). |
For the second dish, a plate with black truffles and blue crab was served at first. |
The third wine, Joseph Drouhin 2008 Saint-Véran (Burgundy, France). It was very refreshing and I liked it a lot. |
The third dish, larded fillet of sablefish. It was very fatty (which I liked) and good. |
The last wine that was matched with the dessert was Mas Amiel 2008 Vintage Rouge (Maury, France). This tasted like cough syrups. |
