Trip to Taiwan-Japan Day 10 (京都 (Kyoto))

Tonight's dinner was okonomi-yaki (Japanese savory pancakes)!

We sat at the counter, and the chef cooked on a big iron plate in front of us.

This was the dish we ordered (thinly sliced grilled pork wrapped with eggs).

This is how it looks at the end (the picture is for 2 orders).  Yummy.

This is our favorite, the grilled chicken gizzard.

The grilled pork and bean sprouts.

And this one is grilled pork and green onions.

We also ordered the grilled squid legs.

This is the pancake with green onions and beef tendon.

We further ordered the grilled noodles (yakisoba) with pork and cabbage.  The noodles were chewy and good!

We thought we could eat a little bit more, so we added the pancake with noodles (called "mordern"-yaki).

It was good, too and we finally got full after we finished it.  We can't eat good okonomi-yaki or yakisoba in Boston (I sometimes cook them at home, but they don't taste as good), so we always eat them at least once when we come back to Japan!
