Trip to Taiwan-Japan Day 12 (1)(京都 (Kyoto))

Today we were planning to visit a patisserie and left home around noon, but it was closed for the day.  So we just walked around the area, and then found a café called Café Bastille.  I heard about this café before but never visited before, so we gave it a try.

When we got in, all the tables were occupied and only the seats at the bar were available – so we sat at the bar.

An uncured hind leg of the hog was in front of us – looked yummy…

I wasn't too hungry, and ordered the "soup lunch" which came with the bread and salad.

The soup was corn potage.  It was OK, nothing special.

The salad had grilled chicken.  The dressing was light and good.

My husband ordered "today's sandwich", which was the "hot dog".  But it was not anything like a typical American hot dog.  It had sauerkraut, etc.  I took a bite and it was not bad!

Both of our lunch sets came with drink - iced tea for me and coffee for my husband.

And we ordered one dessert (chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream), as well.  It's a casual and reasonably priced cafe/restaurant, so if you happen to be in the neighborhood, it's a nice option.
