Dinner at Foundry on Elm

今夜はどこでご飯を食べようか~とあてもなく Somerville の方に向かってとりあえず車を走らせました。夫が運転し、私は携帯でめぼしいレストランをサーチ。以前から気になっていたのだけれど訪問する機会がなかった Foundry on Elm が Davis Square にあることがわかり、行ってみることにしました。 We didn't have any restaurants in our mind when we left home for dinner.  My husband drove toward Somerville while I searched restaurants in the area using my phone.  Then I found out that Foundry on Elm, which I was interested in but never had a chance to visit, was locate in David Square, so we decided to give it a try.

カジュアルなレストランなのであまり期待はしていなかったのですが、このパンとバターは結構おいしかったです。 It's a casual restaurant and I didn't have high expectations, but the bread and butter were surprisingly good for my taste.

前菜に豚バラ肉のコンフィーを注文。お肉はちょっと乾燥気味でしたが、皮の部分は脂がのっていてまあまあいけます。野菜も結構たっぷり付いてきたのがうれしかったです。 We shared the confit pork belly as an appetizer.  The meat was a bit dry, but the meat around the skin was fatty and good.  And it came with a lots of greens and pickled grapes (I loved this grape!) which was a plus.

私はサラダニソワーズを注文。レタスなどの早菜のほかに、ツナ、じゃがいも、グリーンビーン、パプリカ、オリーブ、ケーパー、ゆで卵など具沢山でボリュームたっぷり。 I ordered the salad Niçoise.  It had a lot of different vegetables (greens, potatoes, green beans, olives, capers etc) in addition to the tuna.

夫はハンバーガーを注文。 My husband selected the burger.

お肉はジューシーでした。二人ともおなかいっぱいになりましたが、お値段はかなりお手ごろだったので、これからもまた来ようね~と意見が一致しました。 The meat was juicy and not bad.  We were both very full, but the price was very reasonable.  So we agreed to visit here more often!
