Trip to Taiwan-Japan Day 13 (2)(京都 (Kyoto))

Tonight we came to eat okonomi-yaki, Japanese style savory pancakes.  I love love love this dish, and every time I come home I eat it at least once.

First of all, beer (except me)!

At this restaurant, a chef cooked your order.  At some restaurants, you may have to cook it by yourself - it is fun to do it, but I think it tastes better if a chef cook it for you.

The grilled dumplings.  The skin was very thin and crispy.

Tonpei-yaki (thinly sliced pork wrapped with eggs).  It's a simple dish, but was tasty.

The grilled gizzard.  Both my husband and I love gizzard.

The bean sprout and pork.

The grilled squid legs.

And finally, yakisoba (noodles) and okonomi-yaki (pancake)!

I sometimes cook okonomi-yaki at home in US, but mine never tastes as good as this one.  This one was very airy and good.

The noodles were thick and chewy, and the sauce was also good.

After eating all these, we (4 of us) felt we could eat a little more.  So we ordered another kind of pancake (lots of scallions and beef tendon).  This was the soy sauce flavor.  Yummy, too.  And finally we got full!
