Brunch at Elephant Walk

Poirot の写真撮影後、Elephant Walk へブランチを食べに行きました。以前、ケンブリッジにある Elephant Walk に行ったことを書きましたが、今回訪れたのはボストンにあるお店の方です。 After Poirot's photo session with Santa, we went to Elephant Walk for brunch.  Previously I wrote about this restaurant in Cambridge, but the one we visited today is in Boston.

今回もまた3コースの Prix Fixe メニューから注文。私は前菜に前回と同じ、カンボジア風春巻き (Rouleaux) を選びました。 Again, we both ordered from the three-course Prix Fixe menu. My first course was same as before, Rouleaux (spring rolls filled with ground pork, peanuts, carrots, onion and beanthread).

夫はクロワッサンを注文。このクロワッサンはバターたっぷりでまあまあおいしかったです（本当はもっと外側がさくさくしたのが好きなのですが）。 My husband ordered a croissant.  This croissant was very buttery, and not bad (although I prefer flakier outside).

私の2品目は B’baw Mouan という、お米の入ったチキンスープ。お粥っぽくておいしかったです。 B’baw Mouan (hearty rice soup with chicken breast, fried garlic, bean sprouts, scallion, cilantro, and lime).  It was like congee and I liked it very much.

夫の2品目は Somlah Machou という海老とトマトのスープ。これはトムヤムクンに似た味。 My husband's second dish was Somlah Machou (tangy soup with tiger shrimp and plum tomatoes).  It  tasted similar to tom yum koong.

私のメインディッシュ、Croustillants aux Poires et Crevettes Flambées。これは揚げたワンタンの皮の間に洋梨と海老をソテーしたものが挟まっています。ソースの量が多すぎて味も濃く、ソースの味しかしないって感じでした。 My entrée, Croustillants aux Poires et Crevettes Flambées (crispy wontons layered with warm Bartlett pear and scallion, topped with natural shrimp flambéed with white wine, leeks and garlic).  It had too much sauce (tasted like Italian dressing...), which overpowered other flavors.

夫のメインディッシュは Trey Tuk Peng Pah というもので、トマトベースのブロスの中に白身魚のフライが入ったもの。この魚のフライはかりっとクリスピーでおいしい！トマトの酸味の利いたスープともよく合います。今回もまた Groupon のクーポンを使ったので、払ったのはチップも入れて$8程。クーポン購入代を入れると約$28でした。 My husband's entrée was Trey Tuk Peng Pah (Crispy Asian grouper fillet served with a tangy broth of fresh plum tomatoes, garlic, shallot, rice vinegar and fish sauce).  The fish fillet was very crispy, and matched well with the sourness of the soup from tomatoes.  It was tasty.  This time we used the coupon from Groupon again, so we paid only ~$8 including the tip.  With the price for the coupon, the total cost was ~$28.  Not too bad!
